Dokra (also spelt Dhokra) is a traditional skilled craft used to create stunning artefacts. An Indian Heritage Craft known for casting non-ferrous metals (Brass and Bell Metal). Originated in India over 4,000 years ago, the lost-wax casting technique is the oldest enduring metalwork technique on Earth. Dokra artisans create small, delicate artefacts, such as figurines (human, animal or divine), jewellery, lucky charms and utensils. These artefacts often carry intricate patterns, many of which are finished in beautiful colors. One of the earliest known lost-wax artefacts is the Dancing Girl of Mohenjo-daro.
